Sometimes, people want to complain if they feel they've been treated unfairly because of their disability or they're unhappy about services they receive.
If you have a complaint about the services you receive, agencies and service providers can be contacted directly. They can provide advice about the best way to make a complaint.

Disability Services is part of the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI).
If you want to provide feedback or make a complaint about Disability Services, you can:
- visit the client feedback page on the DCSI website, where you can read information about providing feedback or making a complaint
- call the Disability Information Service on 1300 786 117 and ask for assistance to provide your feedback
- call into a local office and pick up a client feedback form, or ask for assistance to provide your feedback.

Treated unfairly because of disability
If you feel you have been treated unfairly because of your disability, you can lodge a complaint with the:

Complaints about a state government agency or local government council
If your complaint is about a South Australian state government agency or local government council, the South Australian Ombudsman may be able to help you with free impartial support.

Reporting abuse and neglect
To report the abuse and neglect of people with disability, phone the National Disability Abuse and Neglect Hotline on 1800 880 052 or TTY 1800 301 130.

Support to make a complaint
If you feel a direct approach to an agency or service provider has not succeeded, you can request assistance from the Health and Community Services Complaints Commissioner by:
Advocates
An advocate can support you if you want to make a complaint. An advocate works from the perspective and for the interests of the person they represent.
A list of disability advocacy agencies in South Australia can be found on the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) website.
