Bushfire and emergency information

When a catastrophic fire danger rating is given for particular fire ban districts:

• schools and kindergartens in the area will be closed
• school buses and taxi services will be cancelled
• a parent information phone hotline will be available on 1800 000 279 from 7.00 am to 8.00 pm.

To help you be prepared, the staff at your child's kindergarten or school will let you know if it is in a high risk fire ban district.

Check the Country Fire Service website to:

• see the current fire danger rating for your area 
• find your fire ban district.
