Get a complete picture of the health of South Australians by visiting the SA Health website. Information about the health of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population is provided by Australian Indigenous Health InfoNet.

Up to date research and surveys can be found on the Australian Bureau of Statistics website and more year-by-year facts and figures are provided by the Department of Health. 

Disease

Follow developments in the South Australian Burden of Disease Study as they aim to identify the health areas that are in need of action.

Cancer

Analyses and data since 1977 is available through the South Australian Cancer Registry and includes information about cancer site and histopathological type, and for sectors of the population classified by:

  • age
  • sex
  • place of residence
  • country of birth
  • and in many instances by race and occupation.

Pregnancy outcomes

Analyses and data is provided by the Pregnancy Outcomes Statistics Unit and includes:

  • population groups most at risk
  • infant deaths
  • birth defects
  • terminations.
