The proposal

The proposal for the Narnu Waterways by Classpoint Pty Ltd indicates that this development will be situated on the North West side of Hindmarsh Island, close to the Marina Hindmarsh Island development.

It comprises:

  • in the order of some 1,000 residential waterfront allotments of various sizes with provisions for private boat moorings
  • a retirement village
  • a commercial precinct to include a tavern, restaurant and convenience store
  • a vacuum sewer system to treat waste from the development and existing properties.

A joint assessment by the South Australian and Commonwealth Governments is expected to be conducted given that the proposal also triggers the requirements of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
