What the bushfire protection areas web portal is

The bushfire protection areas web portal is used to assess proposed developments in bushfire prone areas. It is used by:

  • local councils
  • the Country Fire Service (CFS).

For general information about bushfire protection areas or to see if a property is in a bushfire prone area - see Bushfire protection areas.

The web portal provides information to help evaluate a development proposal in a bushfire prone area. This includes information about:

  • specific risks at the proposed site
  • if a development should be relocated or have special conditions imposed on it
  • if an inspection will be needed before a final decision can be made.
