How you learn to drive is extremely important.
Motor driving instructors can teach you the knowledge and driving skills you need to obtain your P1 provisional licence. They undergo extensive training and assessment to receive their accreditation and are re-assessed at regular intervals.
Choosing a driving instructor
Some motor driving instructors are authorised to conduct the
practical driving test (VORT), or to help you obtain your licence through
competency-based training (CBT).
When choosing a motor driving instructor, check that they are qualified to deliver the driver training you need and have professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
Be aware that you can’t take the practical driving test (VORT) with the same instructor that has given you driving lessons.
